Leather & Steel Sisters - Maine
Home      About Us

About Us:

Leather & Steel Sisters was founded in Londonderry, New Hampshire on April 12, 2008 with the idea that women riders wanted another choice.  A choice to belong to a biker organization where their ideas were recognized and they would be treated with respect.  A womens club without the harsh rules of the traditional "club" and the freedom to be as they are, women bikers.  A group of women who operate together and where menaces and agitators are weeded out.

At a round table meeting where all who wanted to participate the foundation of the group was formed and a barrage of names for the club were presented and finally voted on.   Leather & Steel Sisters was a unanimous vote and it was decided we would create our own unique patch.  At that time it was also decided we would operate without dues.

Since then a wide variety of ideas from everyone have come into play.  Through finding great, experienced women riders with the ability to learn, institute and carry out runs we have accomplished what we have set out to do.  We have found that as women bikers we have the same drive as other clubs and enjoy all types of events and have the ability to see it through.  We have incorporated flaggers as needed for large groups have experienced road captains in place.

Massachusetts and Maine have been added to our venue as we continue to grow.  Our purpose is to spread what we have found to other women.  Women who want the freedom to choose the rides and events they want to participate in while meeting others and forming lifelong friendships.

There is no discrimination in our organization and title holders are not mandators.  They are seasoned riders with the best intentions of the group in mind.

We have incorporated co-ed riding for men who enjoy riding in our events and appreciate the strides we have made.
